2019 marks an important milestone for RINLA – its 100-year anniversary. The 100th Anniversary Committee has planned two major events – a clambake in July and a gala celebration in November.
100th Anniversary Celebration Rhode Island Lobster Clambake
Saturday, July 27 from 6-11 p.m. will be filled with nostalgia as RINLA brings back the famous “RINLA Clambake” at Kempenaar’s Clambake Club in Middletown. Long-time members have many happy memories of the summer clambakes held there over the years. The menu will include steamers with drawn butter & broth; mussels steamed in wine & garlic; 1 to 1-1/4 lb. lobster with drawn butter; sausage; fresh fish; potato; onion; corn on the cob; coleslaw; brown bread; and chocolate crunch bars for dessert. Also, a children’s KCC Picnic or Chicken Barbecue (for age 13 or younger) is available. So mark your calendars and grab your family and friends for a fun-filled evening!
RINLA’S 100th Anniversary Gala Celebration
On Saturday, Nov. 9 from 6-11 p.m. RINLA will host its 100-Year Gala at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick with an evening of dinner and dancing, Silent Auction and Raffle… and much more! Proceeds will benefit the Kenneth Lagerquist Scholarship Fund. Individual tickets and sponsorships are available as well as a commemorative program book.
In the meantime, we ask you to look through your files and records for any photos or memorabilia we could use to help celebrate this important milestone. Do you have photos from past RINLA events … winter or summer meetings … twilight meetings … golf tournaments … or copies of old RINLA yearbooks, etc.? Please forward to the RINLA office at email@example.com. For more information, call the office at 401-874-5220.
